Where Can US Citizens Travel Internationally Right Now
So much can change in a year, can’t it? If you told us 14 months ago we’d be googling “Where can US citizens travel internationally” and constantly questioning where we could travel, we wouldn’t have believed you. The fact is, that phrase today is constantly changing, and as travel advisors, our job is to keep up with the daily and sometimes hourly (yes, hourly) changes to the border and entry restrictions and requirements for our clients. Luckily, the list of countries opening their boarders safely is growing every day! Here is the latest list of our favorite places where U.S. citizens who follow proper protocol can vacation without quarantine, and what is required for to do so. (Updated May 17, 2021)

THE BAHAMAS
Travelers must complete a Travel Health Visa application and provide a negative coronavirus test completed less than 72 hours before arrival. If visitors plan to stay for longer than 5 days they will be required to complete a rapid antigen test on their fifth day. For more information visit the Bahamas tourism website.
BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA
Visitors are required to show a negative coronavirus test taken no more than 48 hours before entry into the country. For more information visit the U.S. Embassy website for Bosnia & Herzegovina.
COSTA RICA
Welcoming all U.S. citizens, visitors to Costa Rica no longer need to provide a negative coronavirus test. However, visitors are required to show proof of medical insurance to cover any potential coronavirus-related expenses they may incur while traveling. Travelers must also complete health pass forms. CÔTE D’LVOIRE
Travelers must bring a completed Air Travel Declaration Form with them, and proof of a negative coronavirus test that was taken within five days before travel. For more information visit the U.S. Embassy website for Côte d’Ivoire.
CROATIA
The lush beaches and islands of Croatia are welcoming visitors from the U.S. with proof of a negative coronavirus test taken within 48 hours prior to arrival. Travelers must also provide documents that prove accommodation has been secured and paid in advance to travel. For more information visit the Croatia tourism website.
FRENCH POLYNESIA
Containing the striking white sand beached of of Tahiti, Bora Bora and Mo’orea, this bucket list destination has recently updated their entry requirements. All travelers must present a negative coronavirus test result to their selected airline no more than 72 hours before departure. Upon arrival, visitors must also take a rapid antigen test provided at the airport. Vaccinated travelers and those with proof of immunity, must take an additional test on the fourth day of their visit. Unvaccinated travelers must quarantine for 10 days in Tahiti regardless of the results of their test and will be required to take tests on days four and eight of their visit. GREECE
The popular honeymoon destination recently announced they are accepting all U.S. visitors! Travelers five years of age and older must provide a negative coronavirus test taken within 72 hours before arriving. Travelers must also fill out a Passenger Locator Form provided to them prior to entry. American travelers who provide proof of vaccination may enter Greece without providing a negative test as long as their final dose has been administered 14 days prior to arrival. JAMAICA
Visitors who are 12 years of age and older must provide a negative coronavirus test from an accredited medical lab that has been taken less than 72 hours before arrival to Jamaica. Travelers will also be required to apply for an authorization prior to entry that should be completed no more than seven days before departure. For more information visit the Jamaica tourism website.
MALDIVES
The pristine turquoise waters of the Maldives are open to U.S. travelers who present a negative coronavirus test taken within 96 hours before arrival. For more information visit the Maldives tourism website.
MEXICO
Nonessential travel to the vibrant country has resumed via air, while border crossings by land are still restricted to only essential travel. Visitors may be subject to health screenings upon their arrival and should be continually monitoring and aware of the addition of some curfews that are in place in certain cities which can change. SEYCHELLES
Vaccinated U.S. travelers are welcome to the idyllic small group of islands once they have received both doses and 14 days have passed since they were administered. Visitors must also provide a negative coronavirus test that has been taken within 72 hours prior to arrival. For more information visit the Seychelles tourism website.
TURKS AND CAICOS
Welcoming all U.S. citizens who are over the age of 10 and provide a negative coronavirus test result taken less than five days prior to arrival to the stunning islands. Visitors will also be asked to share health information through a questionnaire prior to their entry. For more information visit the Turks and Caicos tourism website.
U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS
American travelers may enter the lovely Caribbean island with proof of a negative coronavirus test result from individuals five years of age and over taken within five days prior to arrival. Travelers will also need to provide travel authorization certificate from the USVI Travel Screening Portal.
